Almost one third of our patients need repeat prescriptions of one sort or another, to order your repeat prescriptions you have the following options.
When you need to order a repeat prescription please tick the items you require on the re-order form then either:
- Post it to Repeat Prescriptions.
- Bring the re-order form to the surgery and post through the letter box
- Via our secure online form (click on the link at the top of this page)
Your repeat prescription can generally be renewed without necessarily seeing the Doctor
Please give us plenty of notice to ensure that you do not run short of medication before your repeat is made available.
Please note that we do not accept telephone requests for repeat prescriptions, unless by prior arrangement for the elderly frail and housebound patients.
If you risk running out of your medication and the practice is closed you can contact your pharmacy for an emergency supply. The practice will be informed by the pharmacy. Alternatively, you can contact NHS24 on 111 around the clock for help.
We ask that you allow 48 hours (2 working days) for that prescription to be signed and then a further 48 hours for the medication to come back to the practice, if this is your preferred choice of collection.
There is a voluntary collection of prescriptions from the Surgery to the Fortrose pharmacy twice a day, with a corresponding return of prescribed medication in mid-afternoon. If you prefer, you can leave pre-paid envelopes (free from most pharmacies) at reception and we will post out your prescription to a pharmacy of your choice once it has been signed by the clinician. Please note that this information is not sent electronically to the pharmacy and you need to allow for postage time.
Return of Medicines and Drugs
Please return all unused medicines and drugs to your local Chemist or Pharmacy and not to the surgery. We do not have the facilities to dispose of unused medicines and drugs and are no longer allowed to accept them. Your co-operation is appreciated.
