Asthma Review
It’s essential that anyone using inhalers for asthma has an annual review. National figures show that asthma control in the UK falls below the standard compared to other European countries, and one reason for this is that many patients are not attending a review each year.
Asthma treatment guidelines in the UK were updated in 2024, so it’s important that all patients are receiving the most current and effective treatment. Please click Here for some further information in relation to these updates.
Blue inhaler (salbutamol) overuse
If you have you asthma under control you should rarely need to use a blue “reliever” inhaler. If you are using more than 3 inhalers per year or using your reliever more than 3 times per week, please click Here
Annual asthma clinics are routine, non-urgent reviews only. If you’re experiencing a worsening of your asthma symptoms such as exacerbation, please contact our practice for an urgent appointment.

This Respiratory Resource Hub has been developed as an information source for people living with respiratory symptoms or conditions, and for their carers. It includes information gathered together from trusted sources, mostly third sector organisations (such as health charities) and the NHS.
