Riverside Highland Medical Group have seven Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) who work across the four different practices.
Advanced Nurse Practitioners are fully qualified health professionals from a nursing background who have obtained further qualification at an advanced level so that they can become independent practitioners. They will have qualifications in advanced clinical examination, clinical decision making and are registered independent prescribers.
At Riverside Highland Medical Group, ANPs form part of the team, working alongside the GPs, Practice Nurses, Physiotherapists and Health Care Assistants to provide care to all patients. Our main role is to provide duty / emergency care to patients. The duty team will triage patients that contact the surgery on the day as emergencies and provide clinics to review patients as required.
We encourage trainees within our team and these can be health professionals either from nursing or from another background such as a pharmacist, paramedic who are developing their skills and knowledge to an advanced level. We provide support and supervision for these trainees across all four practices
